How to Eat for your Best Body....

What you put in, you get back, and then some.

Ever eaten a meal only to feel tired, irritable and bloated afterwards? That's your body's way of telling you somethings wrong. How you treat your body, the foods you feed it, the way you use it, all impact how we think and feel, we either feel energetic, powerful, focused and ready for our day or we feel drained, moody and unable to think clearly.

To feel and look your best you must pay attention to what you eat. Feed yourself with healthy and enriching foods and your body will thank you with more energy, more focus, clear skin and strong, shiny hair. Fresh fruit and vegetables are key, the more colors you can introduce during the day the better, I like to use my Rainbow Wheel of Fruit & Vegetables to help me remember!

Rainbow Wheel of Fruit & Vegetables

Red - Strawberries, Bell Peppers, Tomatoes

Yellow - Banana, Plantain, Sunflower Seeds
Pink - Grapefruit, Pomegranate
Green - Spinach, Avocado, Apple
Orange -Sweet Potatoes, Persimmons, Apricots
Purple - Aubergine, Cabbage
Blue - Blueberries, Blackberries

Expensive anti-aging lotions and creams that promise revitalized skin, can only work if what you're putting inside your body is just as good as what you use on the outside. Drinking enough water will help keep skin soft, prevent dryness and keep you feeling hydrated and refreshed throughout the day. Add fresh squeezed lemon, lime or orange juice for a zesty citrus twist.

Following strict diets that cut out essential food groups or serial detox programs do more harm than good. Super skinny is not attractive, nor is it healthy. I'm striving for a fit, feminine and strong body.

One of my body idols and inspiration is Jennifer Lopez, she's fit, toned and strong, she trains most days and it certainly pays off.

Regular and consistent fitness training makes you stronger, mentally and physically, you also get a natural high (endorphins) so what's not to love?
Whether you choose to swim, run or play golf, do something that you enjoy so it doesn't feel like a chore.

If you push yourself past your limits, run a little bit further each day, add another squat repetition to your routine, you're sending yourself a positive and motivating message that you can move past obstacles and keep going no matter how tough it gets. Don't be surprised when you find that extra strength and motivation leaking into other areas of your life too!

Strong body. Strong mind.

Now that's food for thought.
